Internationally acclaimed director Tobias Kratzer transforms this brand-new political grotesque into a spectacular contemporary music theatre experience. More than twenty years after their landmark collaborations Bählamms Fest and Lost Highway, Olga Neuwirth and Elfriede Jelinek reunite to create a biting allegory of the present. Inspired by works such as Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre and Penderecki's Ubu Rex, they send two "vampirettes" on an absurd journey through a collapsing world, exploring power, media frenzy and humanity's decline. The result is a provocative blend of political satire, myth and dark comedy that asks whether the world can only be saved by a monster.
